ITZAL (SHADOW)

Set in a blue-tinged oceanic environment, the video “Itzal” (2022) narrates a cosmogony of creation and equates the creation of the world with a return to the origin. The video is a record of a performative action in which the artist slowly moves between the aerial sculptures of the installation ‘Gran Inversión’ (2018); there, a dialogue takes place between the self and its shadow, between the sensible world and the world of ideas. The performance was recorded at the San Telmo Donostia Museum by Digitalak and photographed by Iñigo Royo during the exhibition ‘Baginen Bagara. Lógicas de la (in)visibilidad’ (2021), curated by Haizea Barcenilla and Nagore Ansa.
