METAMORPHOSIS (MANA)

2022
dandelion seeds (taraxacum officinale), slate, wood and wire
2,20 x 4,10 m ø

The ephemeral installation “Metamorphosis” (2022) recreates an igloo covered with dandelion seeds (taraxacum officinale) on a rugged slate stone floor. Made of wooden rods and golden mesh, the work has a base measuring more than four metres.

Collected and preserved by the artist for over twelve years, these dandelion seeds reflect our fragile passage through the world and the wisdom of nature. This igloo speaks of an abundance fallen from the sky, a manna that sustains beings through nature; like a sacred hut, it offers shelter, its roof symbolises the celestial dome and its floor brings the state of the Earth
