The rhythms of the sun and the seasons of the earth are shown in this translucent greenhouse. With the winter solstice sunset, Mount Andatza and this future nursery are aligned and produce a spectacular light event. The light caresses the earth at a right angle in the Stand-by fields series and is filtered through the temporary shed that backlights its skin like a placenta.
Regenerating the earth and renewing life form part of the annual cycle of farming and just like the cycle of our existence linked to the land and the sun; especially in the Basque Country where vegetable gardens and self-built greenhouses have been a tradition, culture and a genuine link with the environment.
